Currently I am in the process of completing a 5 octave unfretted clavichord attributed to J. H. Silbermann. As 5 octave instruments go this is fairly compact in size but the tone is full with a clear ringing treble. When completed it will be fitted with overspun strings for the last 21 notes in the bass. An apron stand with turned legs and a raised panel lid will complete the instrument. The case is of Mahogany, keyboard naturals are South American Rosewood as are the accidentals which are slipped with bone. Soundboard is of air dried Sitka Spruce. Price of this clavichord will be $6,500.00
